The grand prize winner will win a Yakima SkyBox Pro 16 (Approximate Retail Value “ARV” is $519) as well as a runner-up prize (ARV $294).

Runners-up will receive a JanSport Big Bear 78 pack (ARV $125) and a SPOT Satellite Messenger phone (ARV $169) (see a review).

Here's how to enter your most beautiful national park adventure photo:

1. Email your entry to adventure@ngs.org, subject line: National Parks Photo Contest

2. Include your name and your city and state of residence.

3. Write a brief description of why the moment in the photo was memorable. Please include where and when it was taken. If you have GPS coordinates for the location, please include them as well.

4. Tell us tips, such as guide books, tour outfitters, lodging, or websites that would help other travelers embark on a similar adventure.
