Discussion: Are You a Survivor?

Tell us what you learned from a life or death situation.

Except for a handful of reality TV stars, people don’t actually want to find themselves in a serious survival situation. Yet every year, thousands do. Some claw their way back to the land of the living with skills, stamina, and hard-earned backwoods wisdom. Then there are folks—not athletes or even outdoorsmen—who are able to summon an innate will to live, coupled with on-the-fly ingenuity.

We want to hear about your survival experiences, whether they occurred in the woods, on your commute, or dealing with chemo. What helped you get through the ordeal? How did the experience change your outlook? Please share your comments below.
