Explora

First it built three lodges in South America with a boutique hotel-meets-wilderness-lodge aesthetic (in the Atacama Desert, Torres del Paine, and Easter Island). Now explora leads a handful of excursions (called travesias, Spanish for "voyages") that start or end at its lodges and cover vast distances (hiking, biking, and/or horseback riding from Chile's Atacama Desert into Argentina, for instance) by using clusters of restored stone and adobe buildings as wilderness base camps.
