Guides on hiking and whitewater rafting trips along Oregon's Rogue River are certified naturalists and experts in Oregon's geology, flora and fauna, hydrology, and salmon rehabilitation. They also school clients on the Rogue's history as a site of the Indian Wars of 1853, a gold rush destination in 1856, and a hangout for avid fly fisherman and prolific Western-fiction writer Zane Grey. You might float the river fishing for wild salmon and steelhead while staying in a private cabin along the river. Or you can opt to hike from lodge to lodge along the river as it winds toward the Pacific Ocean.
