My husband and I want to hike the islands of New Zealand. We fell in love with its beauty when we viewed many movies that used it as a location. We want to hike so we can see the natural beauty "up close and personal."

As a volunteer with The Flying Samaritans I had the pleasure of flying to Baja Mexico to a remote area where so many poor individuals needed medical care. While there I was taken to go see the grey whales, on a tiny boat, that had migrated there to have their babies. Nothing prepared me for what I was about to see!
I was hoping for a glimpse at maybe 1 grey whale, but instead I saw hundreds!
Simply amazing! No one can ever remove the magnificent image I have of that remarkable experience! :)

I love to go to Key West. I like to go to the sea aquarium and play with the sea creatures in the discovery tank and watch them feed the sharks at suppertime.

The Army has provided the opportunity to visit many of the world more exotic and wonderful places. Combined with our love of scuba diving, we are enchanted by the beauty both above and below the water lines whenever we can combine our interests. The idea of meeting and sharing the tales of these wonderful adventurers is too unique to ignore. It sound like great fun.

My favorite all-time adventure destination is the Great Bagley Icefield. My favorite trip there was a 35 day long ski traverse of this remote and wild area on the border between Alaska and Canada from Miles Lake near Cordova, Alaska to Yakutat, Alaska. The expedition went from Alaska into the Yukon, on to British Columbia and back into Alaska following a single line hand drawn on the topo map by Bradford Washburn.

As a teacher of six and seven year olds, travel is my textbook! I have had the opportunity to visit every continent except Antarctica. These experiences have encouraged me to save my money, stay in shape, and plan the next adventure.

I'd love to go to back to South Africa and see the game parks, wineries, etc. We stopped in Cape Town on our way to a flying safari in Namibia but need more than a stopover! I have been a subscriber to NG and NGA for decades and would love nothing more than to meet the 2009 Adventurers of the Year.

Being stationed in Germany was definitely the highlight of our adventures. It was so easy to explore there, due to bicycle/pedestrian/mass transit friendliness!

My favorite destination would be to explore the Mediterranean Sea and to visit as many countries as I could during the summer months. I like to "bounce" from as many countries as possible and to visit as many cultural events held during the summer months.

The best adventure we have had is flying to Christchurch, New Zealand, renting a car, and traveling the southern island on our own. We were able to go at our own pace and my husband was able to stop and fish when he saw a stream, river, or pond that he thought would have fish to catch. We were amazed at the beauty and diverse landscapes we encountered. Most of all, everyone we met was friendly and willing to assist us in directions or suggestions on what to do or see. Unforgettable!
