Also visit the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary right on Humboldt Bay. Some of the best birding in the region and more excellant trails.

Two great eating locations- TOMO for incredible sushi and ABRUZI for awesome Italian food... both located right on the plaza in the center of Arcata. The most beautiful beach I know of is just up the road in Trinidad called Lufenholtz beach. Have fun!

Do your laundry at Emerald City Laundry Co, voted America's Most Beautiful Laundromat! Energy efficient equipment, card operated, great staff, right in the middle of town.

Get a sandwich and a beer (or whatever you like) at the Hole in the Wall and head out to the Arcata Marsh for a picnic on the rocks. Trinidad, north of Arcata, has some great trails that let you combine forest and rocky beach frolicks!

Can't miss the Arcata Community Forest and 3 Foods Cafe in Arcata! Then take a trip up to Moonstone Beach and paddle around in the Estuary. Stone Lagoon is a little bit further north, protected area when the wind is blowing making fluffy wavy fun stuff. You can paddle up to a meadow with yellow flowers or picnic on the sandy bar looking at the ocean. I love where I live!
