Great hiking in the Lynchburg area is much closer than two hours away. We have a wonderful hiking trail and parks in the city and we are half an hour from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail.

The article is a bit misleading in that there is great hiking much closer to Lynchburg than 2 hours north. Its only 20 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway/AT. Also there are great hiking and biking trails in town at Blackwater Creek and Peaksview Park. Check out great indoor climbing at Rise Up in downtown L'burg.

Did you happen to check out Montana Plains Bakery right in the heart of Lynchburg? Family owned and operated this bakery uses all fresh ingredients. They serve up fresh baked breakfast items everyday, a variety of quiches, cakes, pies, brownies, cookies and too may other yummy delights to mention. They also serve up fresh salads and sandwiches prepared on their fresh baked bread. Boy did you miss it when you didn't visit this gem in Lynchburg, VA!
