i'm a big fan of Ewan, he's not just good looking:-) he's a few superstar who has intelligence and strong will. i've read the books and watched the documentaries of his and Charlie's globe trip, it becomes my dream of world travel, most importantly, travel with an open heart and bias free, you will have more genuine friends than ever before...

Long Way Down

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Ewan at the end of his Long Way Down tour. What a fantastic guy! I was inspired then to do a long trip, but regretfully I must say I've to do it.
I'm currently at a crossroads in my personal life and career, and feeling the lure of the open road (and the not-so-well-beaten track) calling loudly again. Reading this article, makes me want to pack my camera, toothbrush and not much else and hit the road. Thanks, Ewan and thanks NG! ...will send pics!

As always, insights from those who've trodden the path are shared w/ candour and simplicity. Great interview. Thanks for this chance to read and suck up wisdom from a traveller :-)

Glad he had good experiences in Africa. The continent as a whole gets a bad rap. Ethiopia is one of my favorite countries also.

I agree with most of his comments. Travel light, shoot lots of pictures, do as the Romans do...

We thoroughly enjoyed both Long Way Round (fav) and Long Way Down. Now we're waiting for a new travel documentary by Ewan
