As a Chicago bike-commuter and racing cyclist, I just have to note how huge, diverse, and supportive the cycling community here is. Mayor Richard M Daley is a biker himself and has done a great job of adding bike lanes and parking facilities in recent years. It's the #1 bike-friendly city in my book!

I was in Miami recently preparing for a move, and I was delighted to see that my childhood hometown has added more bicycle-only lanes, esp. in the North Dade area. Now, riding in traffic is less hazardous.

As I understand it, New york city is working to be more biker friendly. it needs to be but with our bridges and waterways and parks it would be ideal. i hear they sent some reps to Amsterdam to get more input.
Good Idea!
