I love the outdoors - and I hate the lifestyle that we all seem to be leading - captive in our homes next to the TV.
I wonder though whether adapting to the urbanising world of video games and high-rises and Mc D's is better than searching for a greener, slower, less trafficky lifestyle.
I wonder if I will grow my child in an artificial environment that will not exist in her future, and underprepare her for that world of video games and 4-D reality.

I live in New York City, but have spent much time in Maine and Vermont, and must say your article brought up the beauty of our country/world. I cried twice. Thank you!
