Love it for what it is
This is too form fitting (particularly in the arms) to be considered a jacket - it is more like a fist layer or a fashionable shirt jacket to wear over a t-shirt since a colared shirt does not fit very comforatably underneath. It is quite warm given its wieght (but not too warm to be warn as a shirt) and seems quite breatable - I just like lounging around the house in it or wearing it down to the pub. I am 5'10" tall and 185 lbs and am somewhat athletic, the medium fit me very well. I usually take a large in other Arcteryx products. Yes I would recommend to a friend but for what it is and not for what it isn't. Its a very conforatable garment and goes well with the Gamma MX pants. Be warm and look cool.

Another Quality Arcteryx Jacket
This is, in my opinion, the best all purpose jacket on the market. The material is top drawer and the jacket is useful in a wide range of climates and activities - from chilly to warm. It blocks wind well, and will resist (but not repel) water - the jacket will eventually get damp and clammy in a downpour, but it can handle anything short of that with ease. What is really impressive about this jacket is its versatility - not only will it handle a range of climatic conditions, it can definitely handle backpacking, rock climbing, either as an outer layer in most conditions, or as a layer if it gets cold or rainy. It also looks great -- it can be worn in casual social environments as well as on the trail. The jacket is expensive, but you can basically give away all others with the exception of a rain shell - it is that good. Bottom line - best jacket you can buy. The Gamma MX Jacket will be in my pack on the Trek on Kilimanjaro June 2012.

Only have one jacket
This well fitting jacket is the only one my son wanted. He lives in Minnesota and needs protection from the weather yet he insists this is the only jacket he needs.

Another Quality Arcteryx Jacket
In the past I have found Arcteryx make high quality, sharp looking jackets and the Arcteryx Men's Gamma MX Jacket further ilustrates my past experience. I've had it for a few weeks, and already received a ton of compliments on it's sleek, sporty look (I got the Nighshade with the Blue Ray accents) It has kept me comfortable in tempertures 10-20 degrees F. That's considerably mild for winter in the midwest/plains. I'll try to update once the temperture drops, but I figure that is really the ideal temperture range for this particular jacket. I'm 5'8", 160 lbs. I generally wear a medium and this jacket is no different. Arcteryx may be more expensive than some other brands, but I've found you get what you pay for.

Too nice to use.
Love the fit and feel of this jacket. The material just feels super high quality. I almost don't want to beat it up climbing it looks so nice but that is what I bought it for. Love the design with the pockets that also double as vents.
