Made a good choice.
I purchased these pant's along with a matching color/pattern burton jacket while altrec was having a 40% sale on 'sample' apparell, coincidentally i was on burton's website acouple days before picking out equipment i would purchase at the end of the season and this pants (and the jacket i purchased) were at the top of my list.. altrec had the sizes and colors/patterns i wanted, so the buy was a no brainer.. i just received these items last week and have not been to the mountain yet, but i can already tell the fit and the quality of the pants are much better than what i was previously using.. as with the jacket, the only warning i have to give is that burton's sizes tend to run big.. for instance with the jacket, i'm usually a comfortable medium but i bought a small and it fits the same as a medium of a different brand will.. but with the pants you have some wiggle run (no pun intended) with the size you purchase, because if you go big you can use the adjustable straps on the interioir of the pants as well as a belt.. im happy with my purchase, can't wait to use it on the mountain.. great purchase.. great deal.. <3 Burton.. will definitely be buying from altrec again..

Great Product - Suspect Sig Sizing
Prior to purchasing this pair of Burton Vent 2012 Sample, I tried on the regular 2011 Burton Vents and was pleased with the roominess of the medium (I'm 5'10", 180lbs, muscular wide thigh stance). This pair, however, has the sig fit that was advertised as having been recently adjusted for this new product line. The result is that the middle back seam is shorter, and rides up the backside much more than the prior set of Burton Vents and even more than my Helly Hansen Trans pants (especially when snowboarding and crouched in a low squat stance). At first it is very uncomfortable almost wedgie feeling (mainly b/c I was wearing long underwear bottoms sized too large, which gathered fabric in the area and exacerbated the feeling), but after a half-day of runs, the feeling subsided. This might have been loosening of the fabric to some degree, but was mainly aided by opening the pockets and venting, which provides more fabric in the crotch/waist area. This sizing design is unforgivably aimed at what appears to be unnecessarily tight butt fit, yet baggy boot leg, for apparently an exaggerated bell-bottom-ish hipster appeal which might be your thing. Otherwise, these pants are excellent with absolutely no complaints. Nifty snaps keep the cuffs from dragging, which was a nice touch. Huge belt loops were also a plus.
