Good snow pants are worth a little indulgence
I LOVE all Burton gear, and these pants are no exception. Great quality, great fit. In general, you can't go wrong with Burton's AK gear. It's super durable, and they really put a lot of thought into their gear -- if you have a Burton jacket, you can snap these to the bottom of your jacket; if your pants are going to drag, there are snaps to lift them up so they don't get dirty in the parking lot. They also think a lot about fit and how women (and men) like to feel in their pants. Burton makes the most flattering snow pants I have owned or tried on - they flare nicely where you want them to, they have room for your knees to bend while you're boarding (or skiing, snowshoeing or whatever), etc. I've found that a lot of other brands just don't put the thought into how people want their pants to look, more than just be utilitarian. For those of you debating sizes - I'm 5'2" and 135lbs and I got a M - there's extra room for extra layers, which is great for someone who is always cold. They're also a little on the long side for me, but they can be snapped up around the back of your legs so they don't drag in the dirt in the parking lot!! Overall, I'm thrilled with these pants. That said, I think the size chart is way off. I measure into the large size range, but the medium is, if anything, big (I wanted them this way for extra layering room). I also have a small in the AK2 pants from a year or two ago, and those are shorter - I don't have to ever snap them up so they don't drag, so they're a great length for me - and they fit perfectly around the top, but that means I can't layer as much underneath. In general, trust your size instincts.
