These shorts are incredibly durable and comfortable. I wear them while working as a deckhand and for any outdoor activity, work or play. The thing is, these shorts also look good, so I bought a second pair for casual wearing

Like ROC shorts but better
I've loved the Columbia ROC Pants and Shorts for years, particularly for the side leg pocket which fits a thin cell phone. The Lander Pants and Shorts are similar to ROC, but the side leg pocket is over the side seam instead of behind it. This means I don't sit on my cell phone like I used to with the ROC pants, and the pocket is now wide enough to fit a larger cell phone. Brilliant! I give both the pants and shorts plenty of abuse and they last me several seasons.

My Favorite Day to Day Shorts
Alternating between living in the mountains and the islands, I'm in shorts daily. The Lander Shorts have all the features I need for much of what I do daily whether it's for work or recreation or just running errands. The pocket design is great for everyday and travel use. I use the cell phone pocket and the zippered security pockets all the time. This is my second pair of these shorts (I've worn some holes into the first pair after a few years) and I love the ability to get the shorter length inseam. I don't like feeling shorts on my knees. The gusseted crotch is great for me too since I have big thighs and am always moving around a lot in my daily life. Super comfortable and good looking too. I love em!

Great shorts
My husband and I have been trying to buy him a pair of shorts, but we could never find a pair that we both loved. He has a pair of old Columbia shorts that we would always compare to, so I decided to get him a couple of these. They fit and look great. I would definitely buy some more if needed. Columbia shorts last a really long time and they look super!

These shorts are Great.
Just ordered 2 pair of the Columbia Lander 9" Shorts. I just love these shorts. Nice tuff fabric. They should last along time. Never had them before, never saw them also. Heavy duty stiching and nice fit and the pockets are nice. Back pockets should have a button or Velcro fastner because they are big and your wallet will fall out.
