Columbia Bugaboo Stryker
When you woke up to the sound of snowplows and avie bombs, only one pack will do. The Bugaboo Stryker is that perfect balance of rugged roominess and lightweight maneuverability demanded by the deepest powder day. A beefed-up waist belt, featuring tool loops and a side stash pocket, takes the weight off your shoulders. Our Versatile Ski Carrying System allows you to haul your pair diagonally, vertically, or as an A-frame. The front shovel/probe stash is a full zipper-closing pocket, so if you do happen to take a tumble (yes, they happen), theres zero worries about losing any gear. Omni-Heat thermal reflective technology insulates your hose and hydration pack to keep liquids from freezing. A fleece-lined cargo pocket keeps your sunglasses scratch-free, while a bevy of tote straps haul your ice ax, crampons, and extra layers.

Smaller than I thought
This is probably a great bag, if you want to carry some stuff with you on the slopes and have a need to carry your skis on the slopes as well. There are many small compartments inside. However, if you need to carry any large amount of stuff and access it quickly, this isn't the bag for you. I intended to use it to carry my gear to the mountain (which is just snow pants, a sweatshirt, thermals, mittens, and two sets of goggles) and I couldn't easily fit everything. Further, the large pocket (there is a large and a small main pocket) is behind the shoulder straps, not on the front of the bag.

Built like a Tank, But Not Intuitive
The Columbia Bugaboo Stryker... Pros: - Solidly built pack > Construction material is rugged - Waterproof so far. - Vertical ski carry system > works well, keeping skis flush with your body. - Thin profile while worn And the Cons... - Layout > However, overall pack layout and usability was not well-thought out. Accessing the pack's main compartment is cumbersome. It can only be accessed from the reverse position - from the back where the shoulder straps are attached - and it cannot be opened (even by another person) when being worn. Even worse, the shoulder straps are directly in the way of the main compartment zipper. - Bulkiness > From the outside, the pack looks very large (maybe even bulky) and it is quite long, vertically (fairly tall pack). - Compartment Size > Once inside the pack, the compartment size is a bit disappointing. Keep in mind this is a very thin pack.
