Performed well in canyon country
I was looking for something that would help me get through a 6-day 30lb backpacking trip. The terrain traveled consisted of sand dunes, rocky hills, river crossings and bedrock. I left the backcountry blister-free, and having experienced no foot discomfort. (This could also be attributed to good hiking socks.) I broke them by walking around in them for four days. I also went on two hikes where they got soaked (thanks, winter snow!), and based off of my experience, this seemed to be enough. They are waterproof provided that the water source remains below the top of the boot. In terms of size, I usually wear a 8.5, but opted for a 9 because of wide feet. They felt a little tight at first, and then after some wear, long, but once paired with hiking socks, were fine - my toes never hit the front while walking downhill, and my foot never felt as though it was about to slip out. So essentially, this was a good purchase because there's a lot left to them (and to my feet.)
great shoes
I love these hiking boots. They have tons of support and are really comfortable. Plus they look really cute! I'll be using them for a trip to Iceland next month- can't wait to use them!
