These are being saved for a trip to Ecuador, Peru and Galapos Islands next month so I have not actually worn them but have tried them on and they fit perfectly. The back pockets (1 with zipper and 1 with velcro) are perfect for the type of traveling I will be doing. The fabric will dry quickly so will be able to wash them by hand when needed. I am between a 14-12.. I purchased the 12 and fit but are not too loose...

Pants is very comfortable.
I bought my wife was pants. Pants were soft and comfortable. is coming up from below the knee pants. Buy scrawny woman with caution. May seem smaller. In the summer or early fall is recommended for wear.

Pay attention to the sizing/measurements
Columbia items tend to run small - when ordering I had to pay attention not to the size but to the corresponding measurements; the fit is as expected even though I wish I didn't have to order "up" to get the proper size. This is the 3rd pair of these pants that I have ordered and all have been outstanding. Fabric is lightweight and great for warmer weather. These and all of Columbia items I have purchased have been made well and lasted forever.

Just got these. I can't speak to durability for sure, but I will say that the fabric is very thin, which makes me worry about durability. Being thin, the fabric may be comfortable in the summer for hiking though. Also, the fabric isn't super forgiving of bulges etc. The length on my tall body is not particularly flattering either, but will be good for athletics of hiking and climbing. The 12s fit me well. I am 5'10" and a muscular but also hippy 170#. The adjustable belt helps them fit my relatively smaller waist. Jury is out on how they'll hold up.
