Dynafit TLT Vertical ST PRO w/ 92 mm Stopper (W)

Dynafit engineers and designers have taken the binding to a new level, especially with this key Vertical model, the TLT Vertical ST PRO w/ 92 mm Stopper (W). They succeeded in satisfying diametrically opposed requirements (stronger but lighter) while improving and streamlining certain details (such as the ski stopper and rotation control). The need for extreme skier retention in the rear binding and the durable crampon attachments made it necessary to calculate new structural ratios and choose the most suitable materials with care. The result is amazing: 20% higher durability, greater comfort of use combined with greater lightness, more precise distribution of force. For more ski touring performance, whether uphill or downhill.

lightweight AT binding
This is my 2nd Dynafit binding. You can't beat the construction and features to weight ratio. My set-up (K2 Shuksans) make for a pair of skis that feel almost as light as a pair of cross-country skis! As with my prior bindings- it feels that it will take a season of use before I can actually rotate the heel setting with a quick flick if my ski pole- the feel right now is a little stiff and requires me to pivot the heel with my hand. Also- there is always the issue with snow caking in the boot pin-holes (especially with East-coast snow), but you get used to dealing with that. The bindings are solid and stable- I can even do moderate bumps in them when I cheat and lock the front binding down. One thing to consider, if you are in an area where there aren't many AT skiers- it took awhile for me to find someone who could install the binding for me. Now that a local guy has figured it out (communicated with Dynafit)- I have a reliable source for setting up the skis.
