Evolv Pontas Rock Climbing Shoes

Based on Chris Sharma's climbing expertise and design ideas, the Evolv Pontas Rock Climbing Shoe was developed. An allaround high performance shoe, the Pontas fuses precision, power, and responsiveness in an excellent glovelike fit. The heel fits securely from base of the heel to the achilles without discomfort and deadspace.

Equipped with an extended toe rand that is functional for toehooking without feeling excessive and the trigrooves relieves pressure off the big toe, the Pontas has a 34 length semi stiff midsole providing the ideal balance of edging power and responsiveness from toe through the arch.

  • Non-stretch Synthratek synthetic upper
  • Cotton fiber lining
  • Asymmetrical toe profile (KA-1 last)
  • 4.2 mm TRAX® XT-5 high friction rubber sole
  • 2.2mm TRAX® duro-rand
  • MX-S 1.5mm 3/4 - length semi-stiff midsole
  • Assembled in U.S.A.

Solid
These are great climbing shoes. They hurt at the beginning but a great fit is obtained after a few weeks of usage. Recommended for grade climbing.

all around excellence
If I had to only climb in one shoe, this would be it. Great on technical face or slab, yet the pointy somewhat stiff big toe digs into pockets and little foot chips on overhanging terrain. These shoes are a great value, very durable, and super comfy - an all around performer suited for the intermediate or expert alike.

Pontas
I competed in these shoes for years. I still climb in them indoors and outdoors. I love them! They also don't fall apart easily!

One of the best all around shoes made
I am on my third pair of these, they are a impressive all around shoe. The probably excel the most at edging, and could have a tighter heal to be prefect. All in all I will still get these as my main shoe...considering they are very reasonably priced. I did notice for most recent model the shoe fits me differently. I have 3 pair of 9 and they all fit great. Just got another pair with the "eco" rubber logo on the bottom, like a half size too big. Supper annoying.

Very Impressed, a great advanced beginner to intermediate shoe
This is my first pair of climbing shoes. I have been climbing 2-3 times a week for 4 months. There is no comparison to climbing centre "rental" La Sportiva. They give great feel, massive grip, feel great and I can get two feet on smaller holds. I ordered my sport shoe size and they are appropriately snug. I love them.
