Exped DownMat 7 Pump

So much warmth and comfort, you will never have to sleep cold again with the Exped DownMat 7 Pump Sleeping Pad. This super comfortable sleeping pad has down insulation inside and a unique, built-in pump-packsack that doubles as a bellow-pump and a pillow. Very compressible and lightweight, the DownMat packs super small in comparison to other insulated mats and reduces the bulk you would expect with some much warmth. With the DownMat 7 you can carry a lighter sleeping bag, reducing bulk and weight, while experiencing the same level of warmth.

  • Two wide mouth valves ensure fast inflation and simple deflation. Just one quarter turn closes the valve cap
  • Similar to a sleeping bag, baffles between the mats' chambers eliminate cold spots and promote a stable and supportive air cushion
  • Light foam blocks at the mat‘s ends prevent down from escaping or migrating between chambers
  • Laminated polyester fabric is both durable and airtight
  • Top surface of honeycomb textured fabric provides superior slip resistance and comfort next to the skin
  • Seams and valves are all high-frequency welded (most secure method of fusing fabrics and materials) to ensure mat integrity
  • Dark colors dry quickly
  • Two loops at head end can be used to secure the packsack to the mat when used as a pillow
  • Use a lighter weight sleeping bag with a DownMat to achieve consistent overall comfort, and still reduce weight and bulk
  • Exped only uses IDFL-certified goose down, specially treated to eliminate the effects of humidity that may reach the mat‘s interior
  • Size: 178x52 cm / 70x20in
  • Thickness: 7 cm / 2.8in
  • Packsack: 140 g / 5 oz
  • Packed: 19x15 cm / 7x6in
  • Temperature: -24°C / -11°F
  • Weight: 835 g / 29 oz

Comfort!
Exped is awesome. I've got the Downmat 9 and I am 6ft tall. It's perfect for me because I like to extend when Im sleeping, but I probably could have gone with the 7 also. I was sold when I layed my head down for a mid afternoon nap on my friends synmat 9 strictly for comfort. The downmat is the way to go if you do any type of remotely cold weather camping. It makes a huge difference as far as sleeping pad warmth! I have a 40degree sleeping bag and have slept comfortable and warm in below freezing temps with the Downmat. The insulation is awesome. It packs up smaller than my last Thermorest and is lighter. I love it. It's the cadillac of pads! Stop looking and get it, you will not regret it. The one thing I value when camping is SLEEPING COMFORT. If you don't get a good night's rest, the next day isn't as enjoyable. I have recommended it to 2 of my friends and they turned into Exped believers also.

The Best One Yet
My last sleeping pad was a Thermorest neo air. Didnt work for me. Could not keep it inflated and at the end of a day, who feels like blowing up an air matress at 55 years old. Got the advice for the exped from one of the online chat techs at Altrec and recommended the exped. I ordered the large because I toss and turn a lot. The mat is easy to set up, very warm, and the most comfortable mat I have had. If your sleep on the trail is important to you, you will like this one.

Exped Down Mat is the way to go
Here's the deal. I am not an ultralight backpacker. I like to go out and bring some more comfort with me than it I could if I were to go super light. Thus, I chose the exped down 7 dlx. This mat is comfortable in the extreme. The dual valves (one for inflating and one for deflating) make fine tuning the comfort easier than I have ever seen. The quality of the seems and its assembly are awesome. I am a big guy (6'5 250lbs) and the mat is long enough and strong enough for me. I can only recommend this mat in the highest regard.

Awesome!
The mat is awesome and compact. It takes awhile to inflate with the inside pump but it's totally worth it. I recommend if you're 5'10" or taller get a tall size. 4 stars...
