Great Supportive & Rugged Shoe
I order these Camp Four Approach hiking shoes and they feel great! They are also fantastic for working out in. I tried to buy these around Christmas but of course, they were sold out :( - but to my supprise, I noticed them on Altrec and for even a better price :)!! After the purchase, I received the shoes fast within a week. I usually wear a size 11 but from the reviews posted, I decided to go up a half size. When I tried them on I was sure glad I had paid attention to some of the other customers who purchased these shoes. They were right - if you desire to wear a thicker sock - do go up at least 1/2 size or one whole size. I think they run short ? They do feel great, with plenty of support - the only thing I will probably do later, is to swap out the insoles that came with them for some Super Feet insoles to give me even better stability and that's another reason to go up in size. I only see 2 problems with these shoes? Don't wear them on the kitchen floors or you will make someone who loves you very mad. The rubber is soft for gripping and it does mark the floors....... and another thing, the shoes are not exactly waterproof. You should wear a water proof sock if you will be hiking in wet conditions.

Great high tech features
I really like the sturdy construct of this shoe. Alot of times, the fancy features on shoes are gimmicky, but not here. The sole material and the heel support are awesome. I can't speak to longevity as I just started wearing them. They were a great value on sale. The only funky thing about these is the sizing, seems to be somewhere in between men's sizing and women's.

Excellent approach and Rock scrambling Shoes
I have two pairs of these shoes. They are excellent on wet surfaces, I learned to rock climb with a pair of these. They are my go-to shoes for the outdoors

five ten camp four approach shoes
I just bought these for my son-in-law- who just about came unglued at them as a gift. My daughter has worn the five ten guide tennie and loved them BUT both agreed that these camp four approach shoes have more traction- both in snow, water, and ice than the tennie. This is his 3rd pair-- I am going to order a pair of these myself. I live next to a National Park, and I access the trails daily; I do not like to be bogged down with gear- and I like lightweight footwear that lets me move fast. When I move fast, my feet are warmer! They have promised me that these are the shoes/boots to get-- sticky in cold or warm conditions, and on snow, rock, asphalt, mud or water. Versatile shoes in demanding, changing conditions. Five Ten rules!

camp four approach shoe
Great fit , lightweight , and the grippiest sole on any shoe I've ever worn. Well worth trying out. Altrec is once again at the head of the outdoor-adventure -technical clothing and gear retailers!
