heavy duty boot with a narrow heel
The only comparable woman's boot I ever find in stores is the heavy duty Asolo, which is much too wide in the heel for me. This boot has has a narrower heel than Asolo, but seems to have a wider toe box than LaSportiva. I need something with a lot of stability to keep my foot from flexing under heavy loads (I've got a bum sesamoid which is like a kneecap in the ball of your foot). This boot has an awesome shank for that, but you probably won't like it if you are used to your foot flexing when you walk. It also has some of the most substantial vibram tread I've ever seen. Hiking on Serra granite often means the tread wears out before the rest of the boot does for other heavy duty models I've had, but I have a feeling this tread is going to last for awhile. I haven't had a chance to wear these into the ground yet, but am a bit worried about the amount of padding inside (that it'll wear out making the fit too loose). There is a significant amount of padding around the heel seemingly shaped to prevent heel slip. I imagine this would help with early break in, so it's a good thing if you want a boot with a stiff shank you can comfortably wear strait out of the box. One important note: they seem to run a bit big when going by their american sizing: USA size 8= EUR 40, UK 6.5 USA size 7= EUR 39, UK 5.5 (other shoes I have equate USA size 8 to EUR 39)

Heavy and Uncomfortable
These boots are heavy, uncomfortable and not attractive at all. The laces are angled and just ruin the look of the boot asthetically speaking. I guess if you want a heavy boot this would be good but for me I need something lighter and something that runs more narrow.
