Icebreaker Men's Long Sleeve Crewe
Made with warm, low bulk New Zealand Merino wool, the Icebreaker Long Sleeve Crewe for men is a breathable pullover that easily layers beneath skiing, hiking or climbing middle layers, but can also be worn as a close-fitting athletic top. Like other Merino baselayers and long underwear from Icebreaker, the Long Sleeve Crewe fits close to your skin for superb wicking and insulating performance, but the design is lightweight and doesn't bunch or bulk like cheap, mass-produced discount polyester pullovers. Icebreaker intentionally turned the side seams forward on their Men's Long Sleeve Crewe to help prevent any possible chafing from a heavy backpack or climbing harness. The itch-free Merino wool fabric naturally resists odors, easily dries on a line and doesn't require special detergents cleaners, so it's perfect for camping and extended travel.
- Fabric: 100% Merino wool in Bodyfit 260g/m² fabric
- Close fit
- Crew neck and raglan sleeves
- Forward side seam
- Icebreaker logo tab on seam

First Icebreaker Item
This is my first purchase of an icebreaker item. Seems like a great base layer item. Wearing it for skiing in the backcountry. Fits close to the body and works well for wicking without the odour of other synthetic base layer items. Only issue I have, and its a big problem, is that the wool seems to itch. If you have had problems with wool in the past this could be an issue for you as well. I have washed it several times and it still seems to itch. I will probably have to stop wearing this item.

Great for the cold
Very good shirt. This shirt was considerably thicker than 200g version. Has held up well to repeated washes(wore it winter 2010-2011 in Boone NC. Sleeves were a little to long for me but I have short arms for my height. XL fit well, def not tight but more of a relaxed fit on me. I am 5 11 210lbs, 44-46in chest so I tend to be in between L and XL in almost everything. Used it under a med weight soft shell in temps in the mid teens to the high 20's in windy snowy conditions to shovel my driveway and at work(doorman# which entails me standing in front of a door that is constantly opening and closing all night under a long sleeve polo. It wicked well when I started to sweat and kept me fairly warm while at work. I really liked that it took so long for the shirt to begin to stink#up to 2 weeks) when compared to polypro. While the wool was soft I could occasionally feel iritation starting on my upper back and shoulders. nothing to bad but I could tell that I was wearing wool.

I wear this shirt as a base layer while skiing. It is light weight but warm. It is form fitting so other layers go on over it with the feeling of being too bulky.

no more synthetics
great fit base layer. no bulk but not so skin tight either. while skiing wore it during the day and slept in at night. no smell for 4 days. I will now only be using merino wool ice breaker as base layer.. Kept me warmer than the synthetics both during activity and when I cooled down. wonderful quality. note I do machine wash it but hang to dry.

My new favorite shirt. It is soft and warm and breathes well. It layers well or wears alone. Performs well for active pusuits and casual enough to wear out and about. I wish that I could buy 3 more...
