Icebreaker gear rocks!
I love the way this piece fits snugly under my shell and other jackets. I'm 5'11 & 155lbs and the medium fits just right. I have longer arms and the length(due to the thumb cut-out design) works out great. I will be buying more Icebreaker gear from Altrec.com.
Serious winner.
Fits athletic builds great/true to size...the hood is cut perfectly. Zipper is quality/never binds. The thickness of the wool in this piece is suitable for running, skiing, biking or for COLD weather layering. Wicks sweat away quickly and doesn't stink when it drys! Icebreaker is the standard by which all others should follow....expensive? = Yes. Worth it? = absolutely.
Quantum Hoody Rocks
Love this thing. The hood fits snug which keeps things warmer and the thumb loops keep everything in place when I wear it under a shell. I use this as a mid layer over a thin merino crew and under a shell for all my winter activities. The chest pocket and the little zip pocket on the lower back are nice additions. I picked this up from Altrec.com with a coupon and could not be happier with my purchase.
A Thin Sweat-shirt
I was disappointed with this piece, because I was expecting it to keep me warm, but it is very thin. The Sleeve and Torso length is pretty average-good, and the hood has a very nice, snug fit, when the jacket is zipped up all the way; but I don't like the bulkiness of the front zipper. For some reason it is kind-of thick around the zipper construction. Also, I don't see the purpose of the reflective strip along the front zipper. I find it a little gaudy. Overall, it is probably a nice sweatshirt, for most, but I prefer just a long sleeve, wool crew. That is simple, light, and comfortable. Also, I don't see much value in the little pocket on the back of the jacket. Side-hand pockets would be a nice addition. By the way, it is pretty expensive for what you get, I think.
