awesome undies!!
I couldn't believe I was about to pay that much for a pair of underwear, but I'm ordering several more pair now!! The fit is great, they are nice and low cut both in the front and in the rear. I tend to have undies poke out in the back above my waistband, but these don't while still providing full coverage. I hiked Mt. Whitney wearing these this weekend, and they never bunched, pinched, rode up, chaffed or stunk!! if I could afford it, I would replace all my undies with these!
Perfect!
I love these underwear. The size chart is right on target (I'm 5'3", 110 lbs, normally a size 0 and wear an XS in these). They really do work better than ANYTHING I've ever tried for odor control when you're sweating (even better than ExOfficio). They're also really comfortable and luxurious feeling despite being athletic wear! I wear them every chance I get and plan to convert all my underwear over to these. Would have already done it if they weren't so darn expensive.
icebreaker siren bikini
Absolutely love them! The material is so soft and silky it's hard to believe they are made out of wool. Tried them on a hot and relatively cold days: they are warm and breathy at the same time, you don't feel them. Especially like them on a hot days. It would be nice to have a bigger color selection. And they run smaller. I usually wear small size, but had to order medium in them
don't think twice
In our college days my sister and I used to hike around Germany during school breaks, carefree and happy and making fun of all the woolen underwear the Germans wear. Now we have both discovered woolen underwear for ourselves and we have changed our tunes. Don't bother with anything else if you are a serious hiker, or even an ordinary mortal who ever sweats or just likes to feel good. These are smooth, well made, light weight, superb fit, as comfortable wet as they are dry. I am a size 4 or 6 in pants, narrowish hips, and ordered the small which is just right for me. I am a miser when it comes to buying underwear, but I quickly discovered this stuff is well worth the money.
Great for Sleeping
I've been wearing Icebreaker tops for a while, and decided to try a pair of undies, as I nearly always prefer wool to synthetics. These undies are super cute, flattering, breathe well and feel awesome next to your skin, BUT they don't stay put on the rear...they're a bit wedgie prone. There is no elastic binding in either the waist or legs (which is nice as it doesn't dig into your skin and the panties are all natural) and since this underwear is 100% merino (as opposed to merino with some lycra like the new running line from Icebreaker), there just isn't really anything to keep the underwear where it should be. Still, they're awesome enough to keep - I love sleeping in them in the middle of the summer (I live in NYC, and hate air conditioning, so it's pretty hot in the summer), and wearing them casually under skirts on really muggy days where anything else just feels awful (synthetics feel suffocating, and cotton feel awful once its gotten sweaty because it doesn't wick). BOTTOM LINE: As an active pair of underwear (I got them for climbing) - it's a pass. Still going with my Patagonia barely bikinis instead. But for casual use, they're lovely.
