So worth the $
My 18-month old has been wearing a 4 Wide, which isn't an easy size to find for a good price at good quality. We had gotten several styles for around $20-25 per pair, all of which became a headache very quickly: Putting them on, the tongue would get squished down, the back of the heel would fold in, and then they would be difficult for little man to walk in. He HATED shoes. In these (and the Keen Coronado) he wears a 5 (other styles don't fit his wide feet), which is a tad too long but he can still walk better than he could in other brands, in a 4-4.5 Wide. The shoes go on very easily, even when he's not cooperating, with a firm heel cup that doesn't fold over and a tongue that stays flat. The velcro fasteners seem to change width enough for these shoes to be just fine on feet that are not wide. His Dad questioned my buying baby shoes for this price-it's a major investment in our household-but after he put them on a few times he was thrilled at the difference. I guess they must be comfortable for my son too: instead of hating shoes, he will sometimes bring these to me and "ask" me to put them on when he is doing a lot of running and is just wearing socks. The rubber toe bumper is keeping the shoe looking new despite a lot of scraping, and does not interfere with his new walking, running, or climbing skills.
