A great pack, a great value
I previously owned a messenger-style backpack. I commute 5 days a week in Atlanta. The messenger bag was beginning to cause me shoulder problems due to the daily weight so I was looking for an alternative. This pack has lots of room, is lightweight, and seems to be well constructed; zippers, and seams. While I've only had the pack a few days, my only negative observation is the pouch inside the pack that I use for holding my laptop is narrow at the top opening. It take some navigation to get the 13.3 inch laptop wedged into the sleeve sewn inside the bag. Overall, this is a great bag for the buck and Altrec is a fantastic company!

Just what I needed
I needed a good pack for dayhikes with the kids -- the outside pocket is the perfect place to stuff the sweashirt or jacket that is taken off after 5 minutes and needed 10 minutes later. The pack is big enough to handle food and gear for a long day and not so big that it feels burdensome for a short day.

Good construction
Well constructed basic pack. My son will enjoy it for a long time
