I wanted to safely extend my greenland paddling season.
As a greenland style paddler, rolling the kayak is a big part of the fun. In years past the wetsuit setup I have was unsafely chilly within several minutes. I'm wearing the traditonal style tuiliq over the drysuit. The supernova is performing excellent, after a 2 hour roll session last week, in 36F H2O I had slight dampness on the under garment near the neck. The neo neck is comfortable and extremely effective.

Perfect for kayaking!
I bought this suit for winter kayaking on Lake Erie. It has worked out great. I have gone swimming in the lake during the month of Jan. with no problems. Small amounts of water may seep into neck seal but for the comfort level it is well worth the trade. I will definately survive a roll over and make it to shore if need be, and thats what I wanted it for. Very comfortable! I highly recommend the polartec liner for this suit.

The suit is everything I was hoping it would be.
After looking at a number of other products on the market and doing a bit of comparing, all-in-all, this is the one to own. Features and fit are right on the mark. No surprises, which is a relief. One question to ask yourself after the purchase is, would you do it again? The answer here is, absolutely. Worth every penny. Also worth noting, the service I received from the folks at Altrec was fantastic. The person on the other end of the line can make or break the experience. Every conversation was friendly and upbeat and they always had answers to any question I had. I will definitely be shopping at Altrec again.

a good compromise
I've had a few in-water experiences with this suit. I would recommend it for most paddling, but if you play in the surf, the neck is vulnerable to intrusion from the force of wave action. If this suit had a better fitted neck made with more substantial neoprene it would be great.
