It's going to be a great coat.
I think this will be a great purchase. I like the lightness of the coat, yet is very warm. So glad not to have all the bulk and can put a shell over this jacket. I especially like the length of the jacket since it covers my backside. Only drawback thus far is color, Ivory, allows down feathers to show through and sometimes makes me think I have a spot on the jacket. I would have purchased black to avoid, but I really needed a lighter colored jacket to go with other outdoor wear. The jacket is still new, but I can see how snags could be an issue. Warmth was my biggest concern, not sure how it would perform with wind, although the fabric seems wind resistant; I am not sure about rain. I like the jacket very well, and for the price I paid, I feel I received a great product that is well made and good looking.
Good find
I looked long and hard for a tailored down jacket that was longer than my long sweaters and tops, but not as long as 3/4 length. I think this coat may be the only one out there - it hits just at the bottom of my hip. It is snug and fitted, so if you like more room, you might want to size up. It feels really lightweight, but so far is keeping me toasty. My one complaint is that I have noticed the coat is shedding a few small feathers through the seams. I would definitely recommend to people looking for a longer jacket.
Warmest winter jacket at affordable price!
Overall, the Milo jacket is great. My friend has the Mens 800 fill Marmot jacket and recommended the women's venus. This was too short for me as I ride a bicycle, so the Milo with extra 2 inches allow for coverage of back. I would wear this in a light snow, but not in rain. I think the jacket fits well - I'm 5'8 155 and it fits my body snuggly, not bulky. The jacket is very warm, but not instantly. It actually takes body heat to warm you up. The arms are a little short and I think one would need to be sure to wear long gloves or pull long sleeves down to risk. No hood is helpful, as I can bundle up with other accessories depending on weather. Two inside pockets are helpful, do wish exterior pockets were a little larger.
Another great Marmot product.
I recently purchased this coat because I have many other Marmot products. The jacket is a perfect fit and even the arms are correct length. Marmot is the only company I have found that you can order your size in anything and it will fit. Not true with any other company. I love this jacket.
A great lightweight down for tall women!
I have had this jacket for nearly a month now and have worn it almost every day. I originally bought it to layer under a Burton jacket that I bought for winter but found not warm enough, however I have been able to wear the Milo jacket alone with a only hoody underneath to walk the dog even on -5/6C mornings. It does fit perfectly under my larger jacket with barely any 'michelin man' effect. The jacket is a tailored cut and comes in a little at the waist - so you don't puff too much and it still looks stylish. As a tall woman with a very long torso (6 ft), I have found it very difficult to get a down jacket that covers my waist properly. This jacket is great - it goes down just below my hips ( as I said, I'm tall so it would be longer on a short woman) - and I never get a cold waist. This sleeves are just right, probably on the tiny bit shorter end. but this works well when layering underneath a larger jacket. This jacket is also incredibly lightweight and so would be a great addition to the pack when hiking to stuff into the sack for those chilly rest breaks. I have so far used it around the city in Montreal, sledding, skating, hiking and cross country skiing and have been very impressed by this jacket's warmth. Having said that, I usually layer well, with at least a thermal underneath, as well as a fleece or hoody. This is not a huge Canada Goose jacket but rather a versatile, lightweight piece for active winter adventurers. Note that I have only marked the durability as 4/5 because I find that most down jackets (that are solely for insulation) are designed with a relatively lightweight material that's not waterproof. While that's the case for the Milo jacket, the quality is top notch and I haven't had any problems with leaking so far. For anyone that hate's a cold midriff, this jacket's for you!
