super lightweight, easy for travel
The jacket is very light weight and easy to pack in its own pocket. It is very convenient for traveling. I bought this jacket for trip to Grand Canyon in Septemper where weather is still warm, but light rains and strong wind will come and go. This jacket will definately keep you dry and cool with the underarm vents. Fits right. This is a great purchase and works very well

Replacing my much-loved Marmot Ion wind shirt (circa 2002) was an exercise in research. Marmot no longer made the "Ion," and the world of ultralight gear had exploded, so I had a big task ahead. First, what I loved about the "Ion" was the hood, the weight, and the fit. To me, a multi-purpose fast-pack jacket has to have a hood. Weighing in at 4 oz., there was no excuse to leave it behind, no matter what the outing. After reading up on the many offerings in the wind shirt/rain repellent arena, I was back to Marmot, and its "Trail Wind Hoody." It has all the features of the Ion, i.e. the hood, the feather weight (3.5 oz.), and the not-too-tight, not-too-loose, fit. There's room for a next-to-skin layer, and one more. This version has a sleeve pocket, and an interesting pattern, so it's not your boring solid color standard. This jacket is so perfact for ultrarunning, fastpacks - not to mention quick errands. So it's my best buddy, and it shows up in every photo of all the crazy things I get to do.

The product if very light weight which is convenient for traveling. Keeps you dry and cool with the underarm vents. Fits very nicely and is very comfortable. The only thing I wish this product had was side pockets. Otherwise this is a great purchase and works very well.

Great for light jacket
I purchased this for a trip to Maui where I knew I might need light rain and definately some wind protection. It was in July, but I get chilly and want something on my arms on overcast days. We were going to be active, ziplining, etc. This was perfect and my favorite option is that it folds into the zippered arm pocket. The description on many websites didn't mention this which I think is a big plus for active gals. It would be a perfect jacket if it also had outside pockets, but I understand wanting to keep it slim AND if it was completely waterproof. I'd say it's great in some wind but will get wet eventually. It is a fitted cut so if you've got a little stomach, it probably won't suit you. I wore it to the top of Haleakala with layers underneath and I wasn't cold. I loved it so much I got it in black for my husband who loves it also and clips the pouch to his belt loop when out and about. The perfect late spring/summer take anywhere jacket.
