Bring it on!
Endless looking for a hooded rain coat with stylish lines. Finally I have found it. I love the way it fits and I love the full sized hood. You can't go wrong with loads of pockets either. We had quite a storm yesterday, high winds and horizontal rain. Well let me tell you this jacket protected every part of me that it covered. To bad it couldn't help with the hole in my rain boot. Bone dry except for my socks.

A coat to LOVE
I am very pleased with my purchase! The Merrill Women's Wakefield Jacket is functional for rainy, windy, less than cool temperatures while being incredibly stylish at the same time. I've received many compliments while wearing! It is perfect to keep me warm while I'm wearing running tights and shabby work out clothes, and compliments nice professional work outfits and even looks great atop a party dress! The details really make this coat versatile and worth purchasing.

Simple, classic raincoat!
I spent a long time looking for a raincoat that was both functional and well-fitting. I'm very slim (5'6" and 110; XXS/XS 00/0) and a lot of jackets and raincoats especially fit very large and bulky. I had read that this ran small and took a gamble - that paid off! The shoulders, chest and waist fit wonderfully; flattering but also leaves enough room for movement. The arms are a little big/bulky but manageable. Double zip is very helpful. The only problem with the jacket is that the hood is small. I don't have a very big head and it just barely makes it over my forehead if I wear a ponytail. Wish the hood was just 1" longer. BUT, for my purposes, the rest of the coat pays off. I can wear it with dress to work and with jeans chasing the boys around!

Women's Wakefield Jacket
With its tailored fit, crisp detailing, and classic black colour, the Wakefield jacket can double as a wear-it-to-work three-quarter coat particularly as the hood is removeable. However, there is not much room underneath for more than a light sweater and so the coat is probably more suitable for fall and spring weather. I also found the sleeves a bit long but that is not unusual for me when I buy clothes. All in all though, I think I have made a good investment as the coat is very versatile and the price was very reasonable.

Attractive, shapely, practical
Nice looking jacket, practical, durable, feminine. The jacket was lighter than I expected and smaller than I expected, even after reading all the reviews. I usually take a size 10 coat, and I needed a large. Altrec did not have a large in Oyster. When I looked for the jacket on other websites I was scared off. I can usually wear a regular coat, but sometimes I can wear a petite. The sleeves on the medium coat were long for me, but with the velcro fastenings, worked fine. This other website said the sleeves on the large were 32 1/2 inches.
