Metro Inflator/Deflator Pump (12-volt)

Dependable and efficient.
I've had one of these pumps for five years and it has been great and dependable so I purchased another for my son. I have an LVM which has had many problems and it simply doesn't have the deflatable capabilities it should have. For having one pump the Merto has been outstanding.

Slow and Steady
This pump works great! It does not pump extremely fast or achieve a very high pressure but I was not expecting that. I am able to fill up my 16' NRS Kodiak tubes in about 5 minutes. The 12V cord with battery clips is adequately long. Obviously, one must carry a hand pump to top off the boat. I have used other 12V pumps that pump faster and to higher pressure but they also seem to get very hot during use and these other pumps sound like the motor is straining. The Metro is made mostly of metal aside from a plastic handle and switch. The Metro can also be used for deflation, i.e., one end of the pump inflates while the other end deflates. I have seen many older Metro pumps in use today. I think the key to the Metro's longevity is a slow steady inflation.
