Great shoe
I run rugged trails and train about 60 miles a week. I have used Montrail for a number of years. The Rockridge has a roomy toe box and offers good protection against rocks and hazards. It holds up good even with the miles I use it for.
Great All Around Shoe!
This is my first trail shoe, so take this for what it is. I do a lot of hills and trails, but have a difficult time finding a shoe with a wide toe box (and run fairly neutral). True sizing was perfect. (I'm an 8.5 at most of my shoes). Great traction in the dirt, mud, sand. Not quite as good on solid , but what is. I also noticed that my road shoes seemed to be a little more sticky on solid rock than these. They do fine on bare rock for me, and I figure myself as aggressive on the trail. Materials are tough for break and tear. I would definitely recommend these to a friend or to anyone out there, and have another one pair later again for me.
Great Shoe!
Since I am a woman with really big feet, this was the best option for me. I had ordered a half size larger than what I need, because most shoes have a small toebox, but it was not necessary with this shoe. This shoe came out of the box and onto the trail and needed no break in period! I love how it is light weight and the tread hugs the rocks. This is a great trail shoe.
Best Item in Montrail!
This is so good shoes! I use running shoes when I go to long hiking. This is not used Gore-tex. But it is no problem, if there is water proof socks. Very light and a well-ventilated. Comfortable for me!!!
not for pronators- great for others!
got these to replace the hardrocks, which I totally loved, except for the fact that the soles wore out quickly on the harsh trails in AZ. These are not the best for pronators, though they are cushy & the sole design, IMHO, should last longer than the hardrocks. I am purchasing the Sabino by Montrail (how apt, considering that is the name of a famous canyon in the town in which I live....) as these are a better option for pronators and those w/ flat feet. I wish this info would have been stated more clearly in other reviews.
