Great Alpine Gloves
My 10 year old alpine mitts finally gave up so I ordered these OutDry lined gloves and man gloves have gotten better! I was way impressed with the workmanship and design. These gloves aren't too bulky or stiff and they have great dexterity for being alpine-warm. Clever cord system, one tightens and the other loosens and they are color coded. I usually have a Medium, not quite Large hand and the Large fit perfectly so these run like a half size small. Mating clips, drying loops on the ring fingers and clip in loops on the guantlets complete the attention to detail. Pretty impressed with MH gloves so went ahead and ordered some powerstretch liner gloves the next week. Haven't used them much so can't comment past good durablity yet but looks like they will last just as long as my last pair.
Good Gloves
I have classic medium hands and these in a medium, fit me just right. Not too tight, not too long or short or in the fingers. The OutDry water proofing is amazing. Not because it works, which it really does, but because you can't tell there's a waterproof liner in the glove. The water proof barriers in so many other gloves feel bunched up inside the fingers. So much so that it can get in the way of your movement and affect the fit. These gloves don't have any of that. Warmth wise, these are not super cold gloves. For me, they work great standing around in the (F) 30s or if I'm moving, down into the low 20s - high teens. A pair of wool liners adds another 5 degrees or so. The leather is very supple and the dexterity is great. I have not had any issues with durability yet but I have only ice climbed and skied with these guys so far. The dexterity and stickiness of the leather is perfect for ice climbing. I like the pull tab system, one to tighten - one to loosen. At first I thought the pull needed to pull tighter, but after using them a few times I realized the tension was perfect. It keeps you from cutting off your finger circulation. DOH! I am definitely digging these gloves and can't wait for some spring alpine to test them out on the rocks.
Lightweight Glove
was looking for warm gloves for alpine skiing; these will be great for spring conditions, but not for cold ski days
