I purchased this jacket with the intent to wear it while running. It is a perfect layer to wear while running while it is cloudy and cool. It is comfortable, breaths well, and does not get too smelly on a 10 mile run. In addition the thumb holes are great, there is no bunching around my wrist, which is helpful when wearing my running watch. Also, it makes a wonderful layer to put under my heaver winter jacket. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would happily recommend this jacket to others.

#1 Favorite piece of gear EVER!!!!!
I have an addiction to Mountain hardwear, but this is the most versatile piece of MH gear I've had to date and will be the one piece of clothing I will reach for everyday...I think I better get a few more so ill have something to wear when one is in the wash. The fit is perfect slim fitting size xs but with xtra long sleeves !!!! hooooraaaayyyy! Im a trail runner mountainbiker snowshoer snowboarder I telemark, skateski and occasionally do an adventure race....I will wear this for every one of those activities and I can even wear it out for the evening it actually looks pretty hot with a cute pair of jeans. the fit is very true to an xsmall body but sleeves and length allow for one to be xs size but not necessarily short. The fitted hood and xtra long sleeves w/ thumb holes are stylish and an xtra bonus when the temp drops...... I LOVE IT!!!!

I've never worn Mountain Hardware, so maybe I was expecting too much at this price point. I have a Marmot Power Stretch Fleece hoodie which I love, and I was hoping for something similar (tightly woven stretch fleece with a flat exterior weave). I got this to wear over layers indoors as I'm always cold. It's thin and flimsy and offers the warmth you'd expect from a track jacket - not fleece. It's not very well put together - the pocket lining feels cheap and the inside zipper flap doesn't lie flat easily. Also, I couldn't tell from the photo, but the blue has a slight heathering to it which to my eye looks like cheap sweatshirt material. The fit and styling is nice, it's just not the item I was hoping for. At 5'11" 165 lbs with broad shoulders and long arms, I bought a large and it fit well with room for layers underneath - though perhaps a bit larger than other brands. I could easily fit into the thumb loops.

arms too tight, (plenty long, just tight!)
While I loved the look and feel of this jacket, it was too tight on my arms to wear anything under it. I thought this would be great to wear over some layers for walking/ running even skiing, but I think you will find you have to wear this alone or over a short sleeve shirt.
