Mountain Hardwear Men's Geist Jacket

Great running jacket, awesome fit
This is by far my favorite jacket to wear for runs. It's fit is what makes it comfortable during long hours out on the trail. It fits true to size but is fitted to the torso and arms and doesn't get in the way during running like many jackets do. No baggy flapping around. There is good protection against wind and snow and ok protection in rain. It will get wet but it's also not really supposed to be water proof. It does breath really well but is still warm with a layer underneath suitable to the temperature. So far it's worked great for temps from 10F to 50F depending on the layers underneath.

Great running jacket
The Mountain Hardwear Geist jacket is proving to be an excellent choice for my morning runs in the fall. It is insanely light (6 oz), and is fantastic at blocking the wind. My last running class session was in pouring down rain with winds in the 15MPH range, and it was about 45 degrees outside. We ended up standing around for 35 minutes before the run. Both before and during our run I never felt the cold from the wind/rain combination. It kept me 100% dry while being in the rain for nearly 2 hours in total. Even while running, it kept me from being cold, but never made me overheat. The reflective logos make it a good choice for dark mornings/nights as well. It has excellent pockets to stash your keys, gels etc. Just a really fantastic jacket for running. Definitely would not purchase it as a general use jacket though, it is clearly designed for one purpose, and it does that very well.

Geist is Nice
Bought this as a summer windbreaker and it met my expectation: super light, and highly wind resistant, with good reflectivity. Good looking, athletic cut. Will not keep you warm and not much room to layer under it, so don't expect to use it in cold weather. Medium fit close but comfortably on me (5'9", 145 lbs.). Inside stitching on one side came undone a little but otherwise no problems with this product. Would recommend it.

Great Summer Jacket
I love this jacket for summer hikes up a mountain where it's warm at the bottom and you hit a stiff crosswind when you get over the tree line. It's so lite and packable you don't even know it's in your pack and it wears almost like nothing as well, but gives good wind and light rain protection as well. I have not worn this in a downpour so I don't know how well it hold ups. I also am not sure how durable and tough the jacket is as I haven't had it that long. But a few hikes in fall weather it was fine. My only drawback is it would be great to have a hood on this thing for those stiff winds and rain. Otherwise would be 5 stars but then again I guess that is not this jackets fault but my hope they make another one. The design is flawless. I have tried other similar jackets and they all fall short in one area or the other. Mesh panels, check. Zipper pockets, check. The trim is great as well, the zippers are made of great materials. Got mine on sale at a deep discount too.
