As Expected!!
I bought the Selk Bag because I'm a "thrasher" when I sleep. This bag allows me to lay in any position without feeling restricted unlike most bags in which you need to be a vampire to be comfortable. The quality is great and it makes a superb car camping bag (would not take it into the backcountry due to weight). The rating is for approx. 40 deg. but you could get it down to near 0 deg with a good base layer. The leg vents really regulate the temperature nicely even in the 50's. I look forward to years of usage.
SO awesome
perfect snuggie destroyer. L did not fit a 6' 1" guy.
Musuc: Selk 3G
I really like this item and keep you warm when you are cold and this item is handy.
Easy to sleep in, and to walk in.
I started with the Selk bag 1 because it has a higher grade of insulation. The biggest size available was large, so that is what I went with. It was long enough to walk in, but when I layed on my stomach my toes pushed uncomfortably against the booties. I am 6 ft tall. Sooo, I ordered an XL Selk bag 2. It is comfortable in all sleeping positions, and I can still walk in it. It sags a little in the legs, but is not a trip hazard. Thickness and warmth seem similar to the Selk bag 1, but then I would not expect to feel a difference unless I tried to use it in a fairly cold environment. The bottoms of the booties are a cordura material, and seem pretty tough, but the sides are just thin nylon, so around camp I put my Sorel boots on without the felt liners. That way I really protected both the bottoms and the sides of the booties.
Very warm and comfortable
Saw this on the movie 'Moon' and instantly wanted it. Gets really cold in my house during the winter and since we don't turn on the central heat evenings are pretty gruesome. I'm 5'10 so I got the large which is a perfect fit. There is just enough extra room so that you can position yourself anyway you like on the sofa or ground without feeling constricted. The ankles do bunch up making walking slightly a chore, but the heat retention more than makes up for it. I've only used it for indoors and would be slightly hesitant about using it outside. The material seems of very good quality, but not very rugged. Plus it's hand wash only so it'll be a bit of a pain to clean this thing. On a side note the filling here is stated as 90% down. On the selk bag itself it's stated that it's polyeuthrane filling or something, so it's not down. I believe the selk bag 3 uses down, not this version.
