A rugged mesh upper, which provides exceptional breathability and comfort, is wrapped with durable overlays, which in turn attach, to the laces, giving rock solid support and a snug, secure fit. The internal midfoot system also ties in to the overlays and laces, cinching around the foot and locking it down. A Nike air unit in the heel absorbs shock and delivers soft, resilient cushioning. Further forward a rubber shank provides support and stability without sacrificing flexibility. The solid rubber outsole features BRS 1,000 carbon rubber in the heel and toe for increased longevity. Great Shoe
Light weight, durable and good fit. Mesh upper provides great ventilation. Great shoe for trail walking and running. I wear these shoes prior to archaeological survey. Nice comfortable shoe to put on after a long day of hiking in my heavier boots.

Great "Kick-Around" Shoe!
I love my new Nike Alford 9's. They are, most importantly, good looking. They are also a light, comfortable, and inexpensive option as a casual, jeans shoe. I actually bought a second pair in a different color so that I could wear a pair everyday.

Great shoes
Very pleased. I wear an 8.5 wide normally but Nike's have always run small so with the advise of Altrec's chat support person I ordered size 9. They fit perfectly. I wouldn't normally order footwear without trying on at retailer I went ahead with Altrec's return policy. BTW I've got a lot of compliments. If you happen to be a California Bear fan the colors on these shoes are perfect match for your Berkeley gear wear. I'm a Duck fan but don't let you stop you from buying these.

No wide sizes
I bought these shoes after a little deliberation. I was dissapointed to see there are no wide sizes but i was relieved to know they fit snuggly. I loved the fact there are mesh areas for cooling. They also have a responsive feel in which help when running.
