Like a new coat!
I used this Cotton-Proofing on an old poly-cotton winter parka. I made an indentation on the coat and put some water in the indentation before applying the Cotton-Proof treatment. The water mostly stayed outside the coat in the indentation, but the shell was saturated after 5 minutes. After washing in the Cotton-Proofing into the coat as instructed, I tried the water indentation thing again. Zero water soaked into the shell. The water just sat in the indentation like in a bowl. Small drips of water just beaded up on the coat too. I don't expect to be able to stay dry in a downpour (but maybe I will). But, Cotton Proofing added a LOT of water resiliency. It also slightly darkened the faded jacket, so it looks a bit newer. I am totally satisfied with the product.

worked great on my ten man canvas tent. I only wish it would have given you info. on how much it covered before you buy it. I couldnt find anything so I had to guess with 2 bottles and it was way too much. I put it on with a paint brush and by the time I added water to it I had plenty to cover and plenty left over. I didnt even use half the bottle.

weather proofing canvas tents
Our family participates in historical reenacting and we are always looking for great water proofing products. Nikwax cotton proof was easy to use and economical. The water seems to be beading up nicely; can't wait to see how it does out in the field for 2 weeks.

Perfect for the job!
I wanted something to make blue jean fabric water resistant for use outside without leaving the surface greasy or with a strong odor. I also needed a process that was not too lengthy or messy. This product is fantastic! Just wash the item in the washer with the Nikwax solution and then throw item in the dryer for an hour. Leaves no residue in the machines and no smell on the fabric which feels normal but water beads up beautifully.

We created some large awnings out of drop-cloth, canvas, and used Nikwax to weather proof and water proof the material. We used the 33oz bottle size. In all we used 5 bottles to weather proof the awnings. this past weekend we had a great deal of rain and there was no leakage. We are pumped and very satisfied with this product. We will use it again and again.
