top notch boot for wet, rugged conditions
i purchased these boots for trips to the BWCA and isle royale after reading the other 2 reviews. they are very well made and a good price, but i needed to return them for one size larger. note, too, that these boots are snug fitting and are somewhat difficult to get on and pull over the heel, especially if you have a higher instep. i hope this will be less of a problem when i have the correct size. this item seems to be sized a bit smaller than my NRS kickers.

seal team 12
A very durable neoprone combo boot, dries fast and has great support. I was exsposed to NRS through their wetsuits. I did not know they made boots until looking at Altrec's site. The laces are reenforced along with thick sole.

Great in Swift Water
I was looking for a boot I could wear for my Swift Water Rescue Tech 1 class in which I spent more than 15 hours in the water over the course of two days. These boots performed great both in the water and climbing over rocks and sand on and around in the Chattooga River. In fact my feet were the only part of me that didn't hurt after the grueling two day class! I would recommend them to anyone needing a secure water boot that can go the distance.

My purpose for the NRS work boot is the BWCA in Minnesota. I have used sandles, hiking boots, and Chota wading boots. None has perform as well as the NRS work boot. They kept my wet, feet warm - portage after portage with the water temperature at 50. The traction on the slippery rocks was very good. They hold my feet tight on down ward slopes. I normally wear a 12 narrow shoe and a 13 fit well in this boot. The down side of this boot is that it is very hard to get off when wet and it is slow drying. All in all after the first 30 mile trip, I am very pleased with them.

I spent a lot of time in the upper Husdon as a kid. Not any longer - I service lawns in "The flatlands" now. I need durable and comfortable work shoes that keep me warm when it's wet, particularly in the fall. To my surprise, these boots exceeded my expectations. They're a bit tight when first worn, but broke-in and fit perfectly after a few wearings. I thought the stitching or glue might fail. Every other wetboot I have purchased has failed after a year or so. The NRS workboots are still like new after a year. Like any wetboot they need to be washed and dried every few wearings. Yes, they're wet boots - the best wetboots I have ever worn! As for Altrec and NRS, I made pre-sale inquiries of both, and they were answered promptly, and professionally -- just what I have always expected from my outfitters -- TOP QUALITY.
