nice
this bag was exactly what i need for a weekend or a few days trip. its small so after having your tent and bag in it their is only a little room for clothing, gear, and food. i back country hiked in the Smokeys for 6 days with it. rained and snowed on no problem. didn't even have a shell on over it. would recommend it to anyone. best suited for climbers with all the added luxuries to suit them.

Great pack for what its desgned to do
Again, Osprey has come up with a great pack. Think of this back as a gym bag for climbing. it doesn't have lots of pockets or quirky use less stuff. it has just what you need to get your gear to your climb site and back. the fit is great and very comfortable. there is enough room in the main compartment for your rack, rope, harness, crampons, and extra layering gear. the top is easy to adjust for different size loads and has a couple or really nice pockets to keep smaller gear close at hand. If you are someone who likes a separate pocket for different gear, this is not the pack for you. This is also not as good of a summer pack as other osprey designs, as the back pad is a closed foam type to keep moisture from soaking in when you put it in the snow. All and all a great pack that I highly recommend for your next ice trek. love the haul loops by the way and the waist belt lock system to keep the belt out of the way when wearing a harness. its on of the main reasons I got the pack and its worked well.

Osprey Design + Altrec Price= greak pack
I bought this for one of my sons after researching lots of packs. At 38L it is perfect for three season backpacking and climbing, with expandability for winter sports. The removable bivi pad and frame sheet make this back double as our go-to day pack: Z compression helps there too. Simple and impressive styling round out this great pack. Only one issue is the Hypalon racking loops, they are more work then necessary, a simple rack would have made this pack 5 stars.
