Great Versatile Pack With Huge Storage
I bought this pack to prep for an upcoming trip to Africa as I was doubting the wisdom of wheeled luggage there. Just tried the pack out on a flight to LA and I love it! The zip-away backpack straps are well designed. There are adjustable straps at your waist, chest, and just behind your shoulder to help regulate the fit of the pack. I'm 6' / 180 and the pack felt great once adjusted. It looks a tad larger than regular backpacks, but understandably so - it's luggage. I *was* able to sneak it on as a carry on for both flights. (If that's your goal though, recommend the Porter 46 just in case) Pros: - 5 zipper pockets (top one is perfect for security checks) - "Straight Jacket" compression straps to reduce size - Huge main storage compartment - easy to access - Collapses to 2-3" for storage when not in use - Quality materials & well thought out design (buckles, clips, rings) Cons: - Carrying by handles a bit odd (it droops a bit on either side of the handle as a result of the material construction - still a strong design and not a dealbreaker for me) The pack is well made with nylon fabric and reinforcement where needed - plus it comes with Osprey's "All Mighty Guarantee" (free repair or replacement). Definitely worth the money!
