Does the job
I live in northern Il. where it gets windy and cold, so far this hat has done its job, it stays down over the ears and doesn't creep up and keeps the wind and rain out,not a chick magnet but does the job !
A good cap, but questionably better as the previous model
The visor does not shade as effectively as the forerunner model and the entire cap seems a bit heavier. Also the visor has torn in the corner of my cap, so I now prefer to wear last year's model.
An excellent all around cap.
This cap provides good protection from cold and wind , as well as wet weather and shields the face adequately from glaring sun. Above all, the ears are well covered from cold and wind if the right size is chosen.
Great Multi-Purpose Cap
If you're looking for a great, lightweight and warm multi-purpose cap, this is definitely one to consider. The lightweight material and folding bill make it very packable or easy to stuff into a pocket when not needed. The thin lining, with the wind protection of the shell provides, just the right amount of warmth for my ears and head all the way to subzero (-5 to -10 F) temps with light winds. Only complaints are tags hanging out the back like flags when the flap is folded up, and the available sizes of the hat. Printed labels (tag-less) on the interior would save from having to cut the tags off and solve the waving of the flags. My hat size typically runs 61-62cm and the largest offered size was XL (61cm) so its a little snug. Its almost too snug but at least I dont have to worry about the wind blowing it off. Summary, definitely would buy again if it were available in a XXL.
warm, soft and dry
Good hat. Soft fleece inside with waterproof exterior. A little lighter than I expected though. I was looking for a warm hat to wear with my foulies sailing.
