Outdoor Research Men's Contour Pants

Light, stretchy, athletic fit
These are my go-to pants for mild-to-hot weather climbing, hiking, and canyon wading. I'm comparing them to Prana Zion pants, my other standard for spring and fall, or summer where some leg protection is desired. The material is light and stretchy. Combined with a somewhat athletic fit (the legs are not baggy, crotch fairly short), these are great for maneuvering in close quarters. The legs seem to run long -- size 'M' fits 33" waist and ~6'-6'1" with cuff to spare. The hip pockets and leg pocket are well positioned, but because of the close-fitting design they are best for small objects -- larger objects will fit, but will look and feel bulgy against your leg. Only gripe: the zipper pulls are bare metal, and jingle when walking. Easy to fix with tape.

Great pants, very comfortable
The material is extremely waterproof and semi-strechy. They are very comfy and my legs feel very mobile when hiking/ walking. Very breathable. Pants are a little long, but can easily be hemmed.

The waist would have been better with some elastic, but the rest of the pants fit great. I like the clean, contoured cut. The fabric is light but tough and very stretchy. It blocks wind, but both sides of the fabric are smooth and cool and breathe well so the pants don't get hot. The DWR works great too.

ordered mmy size 36 x 32 - these pants were ultra tight. they look lik equality pants though
