Great Outdoor Reasearch Rampart Jacket
I bought this jacket for my brother who needed an outdoor spring/summer full season outdoor jacket. He is on the tall (6'1") and thin ( 168#s) side. This jacket fits him perfectly. Looks customer tailored, and handles the changing weather in Seattle very nicely. It can handle a sweater underneath if need be, and has side vents to accomodate a warming trend, if that should occur. It's light weight and packs into a very small package for packing. The hood is attached and easy to snug around your head and face if the weather calls for it. I love Outdoor Reseach Coats. They are of superior quality and very durable.

Great Light Weight Jacket
I am a fisherman and I use this rain jacket everyday on the boat. It is a great light weight jacket. It fits well and is big enough to wear enough layers underneath to keep warm.

Good shell for a great price.
Having worn this for around a month now, I'm pleased I decided on this jacket over a few others i was looking at. The fit is somewhat loose, at 5'10" 130lbs: I know I'm thin, and there is a little more room inside a small than I'd prefer for warm weather use, but it gives me the option of wearing it over my down coat in wet snow and cold-weather camping. The side zips extend all the way down the coat, allowing for any number of ventilation options with a pack/harness/whatever. The hood vent is real neat, if not critical, and the seam sealing and inner waterproof coating are flawless. It packs into its left front pocket, keeps you dry, and looks real good as well. My only complaint other than the sizing(more of a compromise than a complaint) is that the hood doesn't extend over your face at all and fails to keep your hair/face dry, but again not that big of a deal. Very happy with it.

I use this jacket for my short, seemingly always wet, bike commute to and from work in Seattle. It holds up great to the wind and wet conditions and packs up small for the always welcome, and increasingly more frequent, sunny, warm weather that has been greeting us in the evenings. It's not breathable at all but does have full zippers (armpit to hip bone) on either side making for a quick solution. Overall its a great jacket and worth much more than priced.

Amazing Product
I recently went for an overnight trek in the Sierra Nevadas and expected rain. Wow! Am I glad I purchased the Rampart Jacket by Outdoor Research. Not only did it keep me dry when it was cold and pouring down rain, it breathed well enough to keep my glasses from fogging up and from being uncomfortable, but kept enough warmth in to be an excellent trail jacket for the rain. The velcro that sealed the zipper away from the rain was just enough to keep the water out, but not so that it was difficult to get out of. The seams are all sealed and do not leak. Waterproof! That's the way to go. Two thumbs up!
