Outdoor Research WINDSTOPPER Alpine Hat

Husband loves it!
I bought this for my husband for Christmas, and he LOVES it. It's warm and attractive. The quality is great and it fits well. I love it because buying it for him made me look good. :-)

Light, comfy, and warm
I snowshoed for a week in the Rockies where the weather went from sunny days in the low thirties and nights in the teens, to blizzardy days and weather close to zero. I love this hat because in the sun it was thin and light enough to keep my head warm from the wind but not too hot from the sun. It has a little loop inside the brim so I could strap it on my jacket if I was too hot from climbing hills. When it snowed, since it was thin, it fit great under my hood and kept me warm, and I'm a total baby when it comes to cold. When it arrived in the mail I thought I'd made a mistake as it was so light, but it worked great. Would definitely buy another if I lost this one.

Keeps ears warm
I got one for my son in a child's size from a store, and my husband has been coveting it ever since. So happy to find one for him too in an adult's size at Altrec. He loves this hat because it extends down to cover his ears. Lightweight warmth and keeps wind out.

Warm and windproof
The OR Windstopper hat is great all around. It is light weigth, packs small, warm, and windproof. I carry it to wear on cold mornings during summer backpacking, and for winter trips as well. The hat is durable, comfortable, and blocks icy winds really well.

Windstopper alpine hat
I just received the OR alpine hat from Altrec, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and build of this hat. In size S, it fits my head very well, not too snug, nor too loose. It is very light and packable so I can slip it into a pocket when it is too warm to wear it. Can't wait to try it in real cold weather, and based on other's reviews posted here I have high expectations. I am very happy with the purchase and Altrec's shipping speed.
