Ranger Smith: as smooth as silk
The Patagonia Ranger Smith boots are as smooth as silk to walk in. They have a relatively stiff sole, with good foot support, which I appreciate. The shoes keep your feet toasty warm, and, most important, crisp dry. That was the major flaw of my old winter boots. I am now ready to confront the cold harsh winters!

I bought these boots for my boyfriend. He loves them. They have smart design, look very handsome and are comfortable and warm. Overall, great purchase.

Superb Craftsmanship and Support
These shoes look so nice that I probably will not wear them on a trail until many years from now. I find them ideal for dress/casual wear, especially during the winter months. They offer excellent traction and just a touch of warmth with the thin polartec lining. I rated them as a 4 out of 5 on comfort because my "ankle bones" don't quite match the shoe's height. If they were a bit higher or a bit lower this would not be an issue. However, the leather is very supple and after a bit of break-in there's no more irritation. Fit was true-to-size for me.
