The Patagonia's lightest, most versatile climbing pants, wear the Men's Rock Guide Zip-Off Pants full-length for the 4 a.m. thrashy approach; zip off the legs before the crux lead. They have 2-way stretch, a gusseted crotch and articulated knees to put in motion your highsteps and stems. A tough fabric combination of 96% stretch-woven nylon and 4% spandex dries quickly and resists abrasion, and also has 40-UPF sun protection. The mesh-lined waist wicks moisture and keeps a smooth, low profile under a harness. Pockets include two front and two zippered security: one on the rear and one on the right thigh. Pants inseam (size 32) is 32"; zipped-off shorts inseam, 11". Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

These are some very well designed, high quality, comfortable pants with the perfect amount of stretch for hiking/climbing. I use them casually just as much as when I go on hikes, leave it to Patagonia to simplify this convertible pant just enough in order to look good and feel good in any situation. I think I'll eventually order another pair.
