Warm, light, and stylish
I wasn't sure that a synthetic fill coat could compare with down for warmth, but I think this coat proves me wrong. It's noticeably warm as soon as I put it on, and keeps me warm even when sitting reasonably still for a few hours outside in near-freezing temperatures (and almost too warm when walking briskly). I say "warm" in the context of Boston winter temperatures, FWIW. I love both the utility and look of the funnel neckline, which can easily accommodate a thick scarf but still looks good without one. I wasn't sure I would really like the overall look of this coat at first, but I really like it now. The Clearlake green is a lovely color, and the shiny exterior adds interest. I am 5'7" and 135 lbs, and I usually fall between a small and a medium in Patagonia. I got this coat in a medium to accommodate thicker winter clothing beneath, and it's a great size--not too tight and not too puffy. It's remarkably light, and I think it should compress reasonably well. All in all, I am very happy with this coat and would recommend it.

I'm 5'2", 110lbs and the small fits for under clothing, not too bulky though. Very chic and stylish, and super warm, almost too warm for most temps. Love it!

Great coat
Despite its lightness, this coat is very warm and i appreciate how light it is!!!! I am 5'5", 115 lbs., and the xs is the perfect fit. It is flattering, and the funnel neck gives it a sophisticated urban flair. Working everyday in nyc in the winter, this coat is both stylish and functional. I love it. Highly recommend.

very good buy if it meets your needs
...I returned it only because I needed a dressier, warm parka/coat to wear into the city for work (I travel by public transit and walk some distance at both ends during the cold parts of the day). Also wanted water repellence. (In the end chose something with a microfiber exterior). I liked the black (not too shiny) and the overall design. Fit was good for someone 5' 9" and 138 lbs (slim build) and didn't create a "snowman" effect. If I could justify filling a closet with coats, would have kept this.

Good Warm Parka
I bought this parka to take to Russia and although I have not yet worn it in cold weather, my initial impressions are very positive. It's cute and stylish, seems warm, and collapses down to almost nothing, which will be great for travel. I found it ran a little small, especially in the shoulders, and had to size up to a large (5'6", 150; I'm usually a small or medium in Patagonia). I love it in Feather Grey, as it's not nearly as shiny as the darker colors. The parka is a great alternative to down.
