Petzl Laser Sonic Ice Screw
No more fumbling to sink a screw as you're gripped on a detached pillar, the Laser Sonic Ice Screw makes snow cones out of the hardest of ice. Petzl now has an answer to the BD Express Screw, with a rotating hangar/handle which requires no handle manipulation, just grab it off your rack and fire away. When the second cleans the pitch no more worries about dropped ice screws, the swivel hanger allows for the screw to remain clipped to the rope when removing from ice.

Bite The Ice Like Cookie Monster
These screws are amazing. They are sharp, controlled and easy to use. I love how the clip in point rotates allowing you to keep the rope and pro in and not fumble the screw down the wall. The wont rust but I would spray them with a little oil after use. I have replaced all my screws with these and love them. I wouldnt use any others. Petzl is the name to use in ice climbing.
great product
Easy placement and easier removal! I don't lead much but I second a lot, and it is so convenient to clean the route. Very happy with this product.
smooth, fast, and easy to use
The rotating hangar is brilliant and allows the 2nd to very quickly and easily clean a route by leaving the screw clipped into the rope. The screw goes into even very hard water ice relatively easily. All in all I think this screw is probably the best screw on the market right now. 17cm is a good length for all-around alpine use (glacier ice), while 10cm and 13cm are good for water ice when you have a layer of rock underneath and the ice isn't thick enough. I'm not the biggest fan of the ice-flutes, as they are a bit bulky and when climbing I anyway clip them directly, but that's a minor quibble.
